I’ll Never Be Desperate Again – Jim Iyke Recounts Going To TB Joshua’s Church

October 18, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly known as Jim Iyke, has said that desperation made him seek healing for his mother from now late Temitope Joshua, the founder of Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), who died on the 5th of June, 2021.

Jim revealed that his attendance at the church was only motivated by his strong wish for his mother’s recovery, which was fuelled by a sense of desperation at the time.

This was in 2013 and the deliverance session was well publicised because of his celebrity status.

His mother, however, passed away on April 1, 2014.

TB Joshua was not the only spiritual leader he approached for healing. He claimed to have approached five or six different clergymen, seeking healing for his mother’s health. He didn’t mince words about how they exploited him and stole his money while promising him that she would live.

“The only thing they could do was attack my personality, attack my integrity, I’ll never be desperate again in my life. Desperation was what took me there, to take my mother there, hoping that a man of God would heal her.

“She lives here day and night, I still have conversations with her, she’s never left. When I’m done praying with God she is the next person, I know how many times my mum appeared to me in dreams. If she were to live, twenty TB Joshuas will not stop her”, the actor said.

The actor confessed that an evil spirit was tormenting his life during the healing session at the church.

He also said he felt very bitter over the deliverance by the late clergyman.

“At that point, truthfully if they told me there would be a cure in hell, I would go,” he said.

“I went there with my security, my sister, my personal assistant and when we got there, there was constant insistence that I come to church that day and I said that wasn’t the arrangement.

“I said the understanding is that you lay your hands on her and she will get better and they said no, you must come to church.

“When the whole thing about touching people and they will say stuff started, I found it laughable, to be honest. And I remember my sister pinching me and telling me to stop.

“Next thing, the gentleman in question passed and I looked at him and still had the same look of amusement on my face and he touched me.

“Now I can’t explain what happened within those five minutes. I’m not here to start proffering explanations to spiritual things that are way beyond me. I’m a man and I understand the way a lot of things work but that, I cannot explain, and nobody can suggest anything otherwise.”
