May 24, (THEWILL) – American-born singer, Anna Mae Bullock, popularly known as Tina Turner, is dead.
The queen of Rock n Roll reportedly passed on on Wednesday, after battling a long unspecified illness in her home in Switzerland, where she has been residing for the past few years.
The music star, who died at the age of 83, was one of the best-loved female rock singers known for her on-stage charisma and a string of hits.
She first found fame as the lead singer of duo, Ike & Tina Turner, before launching a massively successful career as a solo artist.
She is survived by three children and her husband, German-born Erwin Bach.
