Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Establishes Bottled Water Factory

April 30, (THEWILL) – The Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, H-JRBDA on Tuesday launched a bottled water production factory.

The factory, situated at the premises of the H-JRBDA headquarters in Kano, was commissioned by the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev.

Launching the factory at a ceremony, Utsev described the establishment of the facility as timely as it is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the key mandate of the ministry is to provide safe and potable water to Nigerians.

The minister said the establishment of the factory was also in tandem with the mandate of the ministry toward partial commercialization of the River Basin and production of safe and potable water.

“The key mandate of the ministry is to provide safe and potable water in the country. Hands are on deck to achieve this feat.

” To commission a water bottling company by Hadejia Jama’are. Partial commercialisation of the river basin and secondly to provide safe and potable water for Nigerians, that is why the facility has been established”, he said.

He noted that Kano citizens and other Nigerians would benefit from the factory as It will also create jobs for the youth as well as boost the economy of the country.

Utsev thanked the Managing Director of H-JRBDA for the wonderful initiative.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of H-JRBDA, Ma’amun Da’u Aliyu, disclosed that the agency spent N40 million on the establishment of the factory.

According to Aliyu, the production capacity of the factory is 22,000 litres per day, assuring that it would generate revenue for the government and provide employment for the youths.

Aliyu noted that the factory is to complement the present administration’s efforts to provide safe and potable water as well as sanitation to Nigerians.
