August 23, (THEWILL) — Erling Haaland has sparked plenty of reactions from inside the Manchester City camp after unveiling a dramatic new hairstyle ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 26-year-old striker, widely recognised for his long blonde hair, has opted for a much shorter buzz cut as he prepares for another campaign with Manchester City.

Haaland revealed the transformation on social media, simply describing it as a case of “new season, new trim”. The change immediately caught the attention of teammates and other familiar faces from his football career.

The Norwegian had not worn such a short hairstyle since his time at Borussia Dortmund, making the transformation particularly noticeable.

Before taking the plunge, Haaland appeared to have some fun with the process, looking through pictures of previous hairstyles and considering different ideas for his new appearance.

Once the haircut began, however, the striker appeared slightly nervous before eventually embracing the new look.

The reactions from those around him ranged from amusement to strong approval.

One Manchester City teammate expressed his delight with the transformation, joking that Haaland suddenly looked much younger and admitting he could not stop looking at the front of his new haircut.

Another familiar face from City’s past also praised the change, while pointing out that Haaland was fortunate to have a full head of hair.

Another City player, Jack Grealish, was among those to react during a video call, while former City manager, Pep Guardiola, also gave his verdict on the new appearance.

Haaland also sought the opinion of Swedish football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, although the reaction there was considerably less enthusiastic.

Haaland revealed that Ibrahimovic had previously advised him never to cut his hair, joking that his strength was supposedly connected to his famous locks.

After seeing the new haircut, Ibrahimovic responded with disbelief and humour, questioning whether Haaland had lost a bet before jokingly telling him to erase his number.

Despite the teasing, the change represents a fresh visual chapter for a striker preparing for another demanding Premier League campaign.

Haaland will now turn his attention from hairstyles to football, with Manchester City looking to challenge for major honours once again.

With the new season underway, the Norwegian will hope his fresh appearance comes with the same ruthless goalscoring form that has made him one of the most feared forwards in world football.
