August 07, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Emir of Gurku, Jubril Mohammed and his Wife, in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa state.
A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said the victims were kidnapped on Sunday night, August 6.
Nansel said the criminals invaded the palace of the Emir, located 10 km away from the main town of Gurku.
Nansel assured that efforts are ongoing to rescue the Emir and his wife unhurt.
He said the State Commissioner of Police, Baba Maiyaki, has deployed additional men of the tactical team, the anti kidnapping unit to join a combined team of security operatives and vigilante group earlier deployed to rescue the Emir and his wife.
