FULL LIST: INEC Unveils List Of Elected Rep Members, Delists Name of Rep Majority Leader

March 07, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled the full list of members-elect for the 10th House of Representatives.

The list followed the results of the National Assembly elections held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

THEWILL reports that the list includes 162 elected members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), 102 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 34 from the Labour Party (LP), 18 from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), 2 from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), 4 from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), 1 from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and 2 from the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC).

Chairman of the Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu had said the winners were declared for 423 legislative seats, while supplementary elections would be conducted in 46 other constituencies.

The Commission, however, deleted the name of Ado Doguwa of the APC from the list.

Doguwa was declared the winner of the February 25 election for the Doguwa/Tudunwada constituency.

He polled 39,732 votes to defeat the candidate of the NNPP, Yushau Salisu Abdullahi, who polled 34,798 votes.

According to the Commission, Doguwa was declared the winner of the poll under duress

Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, is facing charges of homicide over alleged involvement in the killing of several persons and arson on the Secretariat of NNPP in the just concluded general election in Kano State.
