Fulham Triumph Over Sunderland In Pivotal FA Cup Fourth Round Battle

February 09, (THEWILL) – Fulham advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup after a hard-fought 3-1 win over Sunderland in their fourth-round replay match.

Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira, and Layvin Kurzawa all scored for the English Premier League side, while Sunderland put in a valiant effort, showcasing the verve and vibrancy of the Championship side.

The match got off to a strong start for Fulham with an early goal from Wilson, who was set up by Carlos Vinícius. From then on, Fulham dominated possession, making it clear which team was playing in the EPL and which was in the Championship. Sunderland began to find their footing in the game, playing some incisive pass and move stuff, but it was not enough to keep pace with Fulham.

Fulham manager, Marco Silva, made the decision to bring on key striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, at the start of the second half, along with Pereira, and the move paid off. Mitrovic set up Pereira for the second, while Kurzawa added the final goal after a Sunderland failed clearance.

Despite a late goal from Sunderland, Fulham held on for a 3-1 win and will host Leeds in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
