Man City Thrash Brighton 4-0 To Keep Title Chase Alive

April 26, (THEWILL) – Manchester City kept their English Premier League title hopes firmly alive with a thumping 4-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday. Pep Guardiola’s men closed the gap on leaders Arsenal to just one point, with a game in hand.

The defending champions flew out of the traps and took the lead through a magnificent diving header from Kevin De Bruyne. Phil Foden then struck twice before half-time to make it 3-0 – his first a deflected free-kick and his second a cool finish after a Brighton error.

Despite Brighton’s attempts to stem the tide after the break, City continued to create chances at will. Julian Alvarez ended his EPL drought by netting the fourth from close range late on.

The result leaves City just a point behind Arsenal, having played a game less. With the title race now firmly in their own hands, Guardiola’s side need to win all their remaining games to secure an unprecedented fourth straight EPL crown.

Brighton, meanwhile, have now gone five without a win and their hopes of European qualification are fading fast after this one-sided defeat.
