September 16, (THEWILL) – For the second straight English Premier League game, Nottingham Forest let a lead slip away, falling to a 3-2 home loss against Fulham.
After 11 minutes of play, Ryan Yates’ corner was headed in by Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, giving Forest the lead. However, Fulham scored three times in six minutes early in the second half to turn the game around.
It began in the 54th minute, when Tosin Adarabioyo headed in the equaliser off a cross from Willian. Three minutes later, Joao Palhinha’s left-footed rocket struck the top corner as a rampaging Fulham inched ahead of their hosts with the backing of a raucous set of visiting fans.
Forest were at sixes and sevens, and before they could regain control, Harrison Reed scored for Fulham off a Bobby De Cordova-Reid cross to increase the deficit. Lewis O’Brien’s goal in the 77th minute gave Forest some hope, but Steve Cooper’s team was unable to find the equaliser that could have earned them at least a point.
On October 1, Fulham well welcome Newcastle to their home grounds while Forest will travel to Leicester on October 3 for their next match after the September international break.
