October 29, (THEWILL) – Fulham battled back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw away at Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.
The match began with Brighton dominating possession and carving out several openings. Carlos Baleba and Simon Adingra both went close early on, with their efforts kept out by Fulham goalkeeper, Bernd Leno. Evan Ferguson eventually made the pressure count by slotting home after being set up by Igor Julio’s through ball. The Seagulls spurned further chances before the break to double their advantage.
After the restart, Lewis Dunk rattled the crossbar with a curling effort as Brighton picked up where they left off. However, against the run of play, Joao Palhinha rifled in a powerful shot from the edge of the box to stun the home crowd. Fulham grew in confidence and Rodrigo Muniz nearly put them ahead soon after coming off the bench.
In a frantic finale, both sides had opportunities to win it. Antonee Robinson made a vital clearance off the line before Harry Wilson went close at the other end. Ultimately though, the points were shared in an entertaining stalemate.
The result leaves Brighton still dropping points in the EPL this season after starting on a trot. Meanwhile, Fulham will be satisfied with a hard-fought point to continue their gradual distancing from the drop zone.
