SAN FRANCISCO, June 22, (THEWILL) – World soccer governing body, FIFA, has announced it would name the hosts for the 2023 Women’s world cup this Thursday.
According to reports, the FIFA council is scheduled to have a virtual meeting on Thursday where it would decide a host.
As Japan had announced her withdrawal from the hosting bid on Monday, FIFA will have to vote between Colombia and a joint bid from Australia and New Zealand.
THEWILL had earlier reported that Brazil withdrew from hosting the competition due to financial concerns as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
