December 07, (THEWILL) – The Federal Government is to upgrade Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) to a university to strengthen its scope for improved service delivery.
Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN) gave this indication at the ongoing ’17th Hamartan School’, taking place in the Institute in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Keyamo said the university when taken off would serve as a strategic labour university for the West African sub-region and sub-Saharan Africa.
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba explained that the Hamartan school was organised to build the capacity of workers on their rights and responsibilities to enable them to deliver on their jobs and secure their welfare.
Director-General, Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, Comrade Isah Aremu said the Institute had already adopted a revised curriculum in line with the current realities.
