March 25, (THEWILL) – Everton are facing a Financial Fair Play (FFP) investigation by the English Premier League after allegedly breaching league regulations.
The Toffees are accused of making losses of over £105 million over a three-year period, with the breach occurring during the 2021/2022 season. Burnley and Leeds had previously reported the breach while fighting Everton in the battle against relegation.
The EPL has confirmed that the club has been referred to an independent commission, and the proceedings will be held in private. Everton denies the allegation and plans to “robustly defend” itself to the Commission. Should the club be found in breach, they could face a hefty fine or points deduction, which would most likely relegate them from the top flight.

The potential outcome of the investigation has left Everton fans and football enthusiasts speculating on the club’s future. If the investigation concludes before the end of the season, the club could potentially face a points deduction that may lead to relegation to the Championship.
Everton currently sit at 15th with 26 points, just three points above rock-bottom Southampton. The club has declined to make any further comments at this time.
