March 13, (THEWILL) – The Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Mahaj ji, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), to screen all those that are aspiring to govern the country in 2023.
Maharaj Ji, who made this known to journalists at an interactive session with journalists at his village in Ibadan, also dropped the hint that no serving governor in Nigeria is qualified to be Nigeria President.
He said most of the governors have been self-centred and have not improved the security situation in their states.
“I have seen a lot of people coming out and showing interest in becoming Nigeria’s next president. What I will say is that, there is the need to call the EFCC and the ICPC to screen the aspirants, so that we can know their antecedents.
“As I am speaking today, none of the governors qualify to be the president of the country. Not only in 2023, but in years to come, because they have not been able to fight banditry in their states.
“They are haphazardly behaving like nomads, who don’t care about what is happening to their people. They have security votes, but I don’t know what they used it for.
“How can a governor in Sokoto or Zamfara not care about the killing of the people. There are many aspirants, but there is the need to thoroughly screen them”, he said.
Maharaj Ji also called for the independent of the Judiciary, just as it commended the Judiciary for its role in sustaining Nigeria’s democracy.
He said for the Judiciary to effectively protect the citizens, it must be free from the control of the executive arm of government.
“The independence of the Judiciary is very necessary. The president should not appoint the judges and there should be a budgetary allocation for the Judiciary, rather than depending on the executive for its finances”, Maharaj Ji said.
