BEVERLY HILLS, June 05, (THEWILL) – Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, has ordered that the one-month arrears of salary owed civil servants for the month of May be paid on or before Tuesday, June 9.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita, Governor Ayade said the decision to clear the one-month backlog of salary was in line with his policy of ensuring that workers are paid salaries on the 25th of every month.
Governor Ayade, who upon assumption of office, had vowed to make prompt payment of workers’ salaries one of his priorities, said “a labourer deserves his wages.”
