February 12, (THEWILL) – With barely two weeks to the general elections, a crack seems to have emerged in the leadership of the Cross River State Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC.
This follows an announcement that the State Chairman, Comrade Anthony Bissong Attah, has been replaced.
Some key stakeholders of IPAC, led by “IPAC new secretary”, comrade Henry Iso, stated that Comrade Attah has been removed with effect from Wednesday, February 9, 2023.
Among the reasons given by Iso that warranted the removal of former IPAC Chairman includes involvement in anti-party activities, holding clandestine meetings, as well as collecting money from APC to systematically emasculate the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in the state.
The new IPAC leadership also claimed they have passed a vote of confidence on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Cross River state Police Command, as far as the general elections is concerned.
Stakeholders accused the former IPAC Chairman of high-handedness and view Attah’s actions of late as not in conformity with the ideals of IPAC.
However, reacting to his purported removal, Anthony Bissong Attah, said the removal should be disregarded, as he remains the authentic Chairman of IPAC in Cross River State.
“I don’t know who these people masquerading as IPAC stakeholders. Where did they conduct elections to install themselves as IPAC officials?”
He described them as “Faceless charlatans”, who deserve no attention.
