August 25, (THEWILL) — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to reopen its electronic membership registration nationwide from Monday, August 31, as the ruling party begins a fresh membership mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise, which will cover APC wards across the country, is expected to provide an opportunity for existing members to validate their membership records while opening the door for new members and supporters seeking to join the party.

A statement signed on Tuesday by National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged APC stakeholders, members and supporters to participate fully in the exercise.

According to Morka, the electronic registration is part of efforts to digitise the party’s membership register and improve the accuracy and integrity of its records ahead of the next general elections.

“Registrants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN),” Morka said.

The APC spokesman explained that the exercise was designed to establish a more reliable and accessible digital membership database for the party.

“The E-Registration Exercise is designed to digitise the party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records and enhance efficient access to membership data,” he said.

Morka added that an accurate membership database would be important to the party’s planning and management decisions, particularly as it prepares for the 2027 electoral cycle.

He said the initiative would also contribute to strengthening internal democracy within the party by providing a more structured and verifiable system for managing its membership.
