December 01, (THEWILL) – The Federal High Court, Abuja, has nullified the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship primary election in Abia State and ordered that a fresh primary be conducted within 14 days.

The ruling followed a suit filed by Chikwe Udensi, challenging the victory of Prof. Greg Ibe, who emerged as the party’s candidate in the gubernatorial primary election, held on May 29, 2022.

Udensi had prayed the court to declare him the winner of the primary election or in the alternative, order for the conduct of a fresh election.

Delivering judgment on Thursday, Justice Binta Nyako, admitted that from the evidence and testimonies of witnesses, the May 29 APGA governorship primary election in Abia, was flawed and marred by irregularities.

She consequently nullified the election and ordered the party to conduct a fresh election.
