SAN FRANCISCO, November 19, (THEWILL) – In 2019, Engr. Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe was tipped to succeed former Oyo state governor, Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as the flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) however, as expected in the game of politics, a last-minute pitch saw Mr Bayo Adelabu, a former deputy governor of the central bank of Nigeria won the primary but eventually lost the election to Seyi Makinde, the incumbent.

Sources averred that he was disqualified based on his alleged roots which was traced to Edo and Delta States. His genuine state of origin was faulted by Ibadan leaders and party chieftains. They said his great grandparent migrated into Ibadan years ago.

The deep pocket engineer was on Monday the 16th of November, at the Popoyemoja’s Palace, installed as the Mogaji of Oguntegbe Family of Labo’s Compound in Ibadan by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, HRM, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

According to close sources, “His installation has put paid to an insinuation from some quarters that Joseph Tegbe is not an indigene of Ibadan.

Chief Tegbe, who is a Partner and Head of the Technology Advisory Services of KPMG Professional Services in Nigeria has further reiterated his commitment to developmental growth for Ibadan land and by extension Oyo state in general.

Sources claim he is getting set to battle for the APC ticket at the next gubernatorial election. “He is currently consulting with stakeholders and party leaders using his foundation as bait for penetration. His only constrain would be Bayo Adelabu who is also working tirelessly to bounce back from his defeat. When the time comes, boys would be separated from the men,” a source said.
