Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Friday began a historic second term in office, breaking a 30-year political jinx to become the first governor of the state to secure and commence two consecutive terms since Ekiti was created in 1996.

President Bola Tinubu has nominated four National Commissioners and two Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as the electoral body prepares for the 2027 general elections.

The campaign organisation said there should be “no second term without accountability,” accusing Tinubu of attempting to avoid direct engagement with voters after allegedly failing to fulfil key promises made during the 2023 presidential campaign.
