September 11, (THEWILL) – Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, is set to defend his celebrity boxing title against rapper Speed Darlington in what promises to be a heated clash.
The fight is scheduled for October 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos as part of the “Chaos in the Ring” series. The bout will also be streamed live on DAZN.
Carter enters the fight as the reigning celebrity boxing champion after beating street-pop star Portable by unanimous decision in May. He also received the ₦50 million prize promised by businessman Emeka “E-Money” Okonkwo.
The tension between Carter and Speed Darlington was already evident at their promotional event on September 10 at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos. The pair exchanged heated words before the confrontation turned physical, forcing security officials to step in and separate them.
Speaking after the heated exchange, Carter made it clear that he was confident of beating Speed Darlington. He also mocked his opponent over his age.
“He’s an old man for me. It’s just like me fighting my dad’s agemate. I will beat him,” Carter said.
He went further, saying he was worried about seriously hurting Speed Darlington in the ring.
“I’ scared that I will kill somebody’s daddy. I’m happy he has not given birth, because if he has, I will be scared to fight him,” he said. “I will beat him to death. That is my plan.”
Carter has also linked his motivation for the fight to Speed Darlington’s previous comments about Afrobeats star Burna Boy. He has said he wants to settle the matter in the ring.

Away from the boxing rivalry, Carter also addressed the controversy surrounding his TikTok account. The platform recently permanently banned his account, which had more than 5.6 million followers.
Carter accused fellow content creator Peller of being behind the ban, claiming that he hacked his account.
Peller has since responded to the allegation. He acknowledged seeing claims that he was responsible for the ban but did not directly admit to causing it. Instead, he pointed to Carter’s activities during TikTok livestreams and suggested they may have contributed to the platform’s decision.
The TikTok controversy has added another layer to the drama surrounding Carter as he prepares for his next boxing challenge.
With October 1 fast approaching, Carter will be looking to retain the title he won against Portable, while Speed Darlington will be aiming to take the belt from him in their Lagos showdown.
