Building Collapse: Minister Orders Arrest Of FHA Officials, Developer, Supervisor

February 04, (THEWILL) – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Bello, has ordered the immediate arrest and prosecution of officials of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and the developer of the collapsed two-storey building in Abuja.

The Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Umar Shuaibu, disclosed the development to newsmen on Saturday.

THEWILL reports that a two-storey building under construction collapsed on Thursday, at 6th Avenue in Gwarimpa Estate.

In an update on the development on Saturday, Shuaibu said 24 persons were trapped, with three confirmed dead, while 21 persons have been rescued.

He said the FCT Minister has directed security agencies to arrest the FHA officers in charge of granting development permit, the developer, and the engineer supervising the collapsed building.
