BEVERLY HILLS, April 25, (THEWILL) – Reports indicate that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, may have rejected the bail granted him by Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court, Abuja.

THEWILL had reported that Nyako had on Tuesday granted Kanu bail on stringent terms including producing a Jewish leader as surety.

There were wild celebrations in the South-East and some South-South states at the news of Kanu’s bail which was short-lived when the conditions of his release became clear.

Justice Nyako had granted Kanu bail on health grounds ruling that he must produce three sureties, including a highly respected and recognised Jewish leader, a highly placed person of Igbo extraction such as a Senator, as well as a highly respected person who is resident and owns landed property in Abuja.

Each of the sureties are to deposit N100 million.

But Kanu has reportedly rejected the order for his conditional release saying he will not accept the bail until other persons he was charged with, messers Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, are granted bail as well.

However, his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said his client had not rejected the bail.
