June 9 (THEWILL) — Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma has explained why he celebrates divorce, saying it can bring relief to people in unhappy marriages.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Morayo Show, Bovi said he believes the end of a difficult marriage can be a positive outcome for those involved.

“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage,” he said.

The comedian said divorce is a better option than staying in a toxic relationship.

“I will not suffer anybody, nor will I want anybody to suffer me,” he said

Bovi, however, noted that his comments do not mean marriage is easy. Reflecting on his own experience, he said his 17-year marriage has come with challenges.

“That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop,” he said.

His remarks have sparked conversations online, with many people sharing different views on marriage, divorce, and personal happiness.
