August 18, (THEWILL) — Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez, has opened up about his decision to take fellow rapper, Odumodublvck, to court over allegations he described as too serious to ignore.
Speaking with Rufai Oseni on Nevon HQ, Blaqbonez explained why he decided to pursue legal action after Odumodublvck accused him of sexual abuse.
Blaqbonez said he could have ignored the dispute, but the sexual abuse allegation changed things for him.
“I was never gonna come out and say anything because I don’t care about being the bad guy, but when you say sexual abuse, that’s not a tag I will like to take as a joke.
“In the history of men, I don’t think a man has ever done this thing to another man”, he stated.
The rapper said the allegation was different from the usual insults and attacks that can come with a rap rivalry.
Blaqbonez has since filed a ₦2.55 billion defamation suit against Odumodublvck. His lawyers are seeking ₦2 billion in general damages, ₦500 million in aggravated damages and ₦50 million in legal costs.
The legal action also seeks the removal of the disputed posts, a public apology and an order stopping Odumodublvck from making further similar allegations.
Blaqbonez also made it clear that he does not intend to settle the matter quietly.
“Now, I am taking him to court. Come to court and prove that you said what you say I am. The fact is that if I truly did that, he would be taking me to court. There’s no peace, the case must be followed to the end because he must pay me”, he said.
He also revealed that the tension between them did not start with the recent social media accusations. According to Blaqbonez, it dates back to 2023, when they both met the same woman.

Blaqbonez said he and the woman were seeing each other at the time, while Odumodublvck was also trying to get her attention and sending flowers to her office.
The personal issue later spilled into their public exchanges before Odumodublvck made the disputed allegations against Blaqbonez. The situation eventually led to the ₦2.55 billion defamation suit filed by Blaqbonez’s lawyers in July.
Before the fallout, Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck had a friendly relationship and worked together on several songs, including “Tesla Boy”, “Dollerz” and “Technician”.
Their relationship has since changed, with the personal tension developing into a public dispute and now a legal battle.
Odumodublvck has rejected the defamation claims and maintained his allegations against Blaqbonez.
The allegations remain disputed and have not been established in court.
