October 18, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Kwara South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, has emerged as Deputy Leader of the Senate.
Senator Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka, the APC lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, has also emerged as the new Deputy Chief Whip of the Red Chamber.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the new appointments at plenary on Wednesday.
Senator Ashiru was before his new position, Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate. He replaced Senator Dave Umahi as Deputy Senate Leader.
Umahi was appointed Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
