Arsonists Set Imo High Court On Fire

February 13, (THEWILL) – The Oguta High Court located in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State has been razed by arsonists.

THEWILL gathered the incident occurred at about 11:30 pm on Sunday night.

A resident source in the area said the Magistrate’s Court Registry, Appeal Court Record Office, File Room, Secretary to the High Court Judge’s office, office of the High Court bailiff, and the chamber of the High Court judge were burnt.

“The Magistrate Court Registry, Appeal Court Record Office, File Room, Secretary to the High Court Judge’s office, and office of the High Court Bailiff were burnt while the chamber of High Court Judge was partly razed. The whole of the block has cracked and no reasonable human being will ever go near the facility”, the source said.

The Sole Administrator of Oguta LGA, Ofili Ijioma, who confirmed the arson, said the incident had been reported to security agents.

The spokesperson for the Imo Police Command, Henry Okoye, said he was still awaiting information from the area.
