November 03, (THEWILL) – The Kogi State Police Command, has debunked reports that it asked its personnel to pay the sum of N10,000 as transport fare to convey officers for the Anambra election slated for Saturday, November 6, 2021.

The Command in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Spokesman, DSP William Ovye Aya, said the report is not only the figment of the author’s imagination but totally false, malicious and highly mischievous.

“The Command did not request for any amount of money as transport fare from Officers deployed for the assignment.

“The Commissioner of Police, while addressing the Officers deployed for the election stated that, the police authority is responsible for the transportation of it’s personnel to and fro to Anambra State. The Command is surprised at the false and unfounded report on social media.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police urged the public to discountenance such mischievous information, while ordering the Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation to commence investigation into the alleged extortion”, he said.
