September 28, (THEWILL) – Senior Pastor of Power City International, Uyo, Dr Abel Damina, has expressed sadness over the death of Pastor Patience Umo Eno, wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umoh Eno.

In a condolence message to the Governor and the people of Akwa Ibom State on Friday, Damina said with the exit of the governor’s wife, the state has lost a quintessential mother.

“I received with shock the news of the death of the wife of our governor, Mrs Patience Umo Eno. It was difficult to believe the news until I saw a press statement from the Ministry of Information.

“This is one death that has clearly disorganised, unsettled and disoriented not just the governor but the entire people of the state. It is a debilitating loss indeed.

“I feel for the governor and members of his immediate family. The widows and less privileged people of Akwa Ibom and all those who have benefitted from her motherly activities will really miss her. Akwa Ibom miss her dearly.

“On behalf of my family and the entire Power City family, I sincerely condole with the governor and urge him to take heart. May God comfort him and the family and give them the grace to pull through at this time”, the statement reads in parts.

He, however, admonished that though a vacuum has been created by her demise, the mourning should be with the hope that a believer in Christ merely sleeps but is alive in Christ. The absence is only in the flesh.

The release by the state commissioner of information, Comrade Ini Ememobong in the early hours of Friday, September 27, indicated that Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno’s passing followed an undisclosed illness.

“She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family.

“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time. Further details will be provided by the family as necessary. In the meantime, the family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

“His Excellency, the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno appreciates all who have stood by the first family in this period and assures all the citizens that despite this huge personal loss, his commitment to the service of the state is unwavering”, the release read.
