November 25, (THEWILL) – An Akwa Ibom entrepreneur operating a chain of agricultural ventures, Mr Friday Obonoh, has won an award of excellence from the National Association of Small Scale Industrialists.
Obonoh, who is the Managing Director of Franklin Ever Bright Farms Limited, based in Uyo, was conferred with the award along with other entrepreneurs at the Association’s National Industrial Quality Award held in Abuja, with the theme: “The future of Small Scale Industries in Nigeria: Opportunities & Challenges.”
Other recipients of the awards include Special Adviser to the President on Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria, Mr Tola Adekunle Johnson; APC Governorship Candidate for Katsina State, Dr Dikko Umaru; Mr Tony Elumelu, Engr Etido Inyang, Engr Prof Samson Dunar, Engr Dr Emmanuel Benson, Mrs Alor Uche Geraldine, Chief Ukwago Emmanuel, Dr Victoria Madedo amongst others.
This was contained in a statement issued by the young entrepreneur and made available to our correspondent in Uyo, on Friday.
According to the statement, the National President of NASSI, Mr Solomon Vongfa Daniel, while presenting the award in Abuja, acknowledged the contributions of the Akwa Ibom farmer to the Nigerian Economy and urged him to do more.
The statement reads in part: “Mr Obonoh has made remarkable impact in the agricultural industry and has contributed to advancing the Nigerian economy and the manufacturing sector.
“Obonoh has been a key player in the agric sector of the economy, with the establishment of Franklyn Ever Bright Farms Limited, a hatchery to meet the need of day-old chicks for the South-South region of Nigeria has been met and other value chains.”
Speaking shortly after the award, Mr Obonoh said that he did not realize that the effort he was making had attracted national attention to be given such an award. He added that the award will spur him to do more.
