November 21, (THEWILL) – About 25 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly including the embattled Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, held a plenary session at the State Assembly complex on Tuesday.

The sitting is coming 48 hours after the factional Speaker of the House, Edison Ehie, alleged an assassination attempt on his life on Sunday night

THEWILL gathered that the lawmakers deliberated on the suspension of the strike by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), and the order for the police to investigate the fire incident in the chamber on October 29.

However, the session was held amid tight security, and police patrol were stationed at the entrance of the Assembly complex.

Also, vehicular and human movements were restricted at Moscow Road, during the sitting by the Assembly members.
