September 25, (THEWILL) – Former Inspector-General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, has opened a campaign office in Adogi Electoral Ward, Nasarawa State, as he steps up grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The office, donated by Jonah Yakubu Adogi, was commissioned on Thursday, September 24, as part of efforts by the former police chief’s campaign organisation to establish a presence across the state’s 147 electoral wards.
The development comes days after Adamu’s campaign distributed motorcycles to ward coordinators and vehicles to officials responsible for various aspects of the campaign organisation.
The vehicles were allocated to the Director-General as well as officials overseeing the women’s wing, medical team and operations unit.
Explaining the rationale for the deployment of motorcycles to ward coordinators, Adamu said the vehicles would enable them to operate more effectively within their respective wards.
“For our staff in each ward, today we will give motorcycles so that it will help them carry out their tasks”, he said.
He added that additional logistical support would be provided as the campaign organisation identified further operational requirements.
The latest development marks a shift in the former police chief’s campaign towards ward-level mobilisation, with his organisation seeking to establish structures capable of coordinating activities at the grassroots.

Adamu’s political journey towards the 2027 Nasarawa governorship contest has undergone a major shift since his participation in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary.
After losing the APC primary, he left the party and subsequently emerged on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) through a substitution process reported earlier this month.
His emergence, however, has triggered a dispute within the SDP over the party’s candidate for the governorship election.
The party’s national media directorate has maintained that Danlami Musa Mohammed, who emerged from the SDP’s May governorship primary, remains the party’s duly elected candidate.
The position has placed Adamu’s campaign in the middle of an unresolved dispute over the validity of the subsequent substitution process.
Adamu’s camp, meanwhile, has proceeded with its campaign activities, including the establishment of ward structures and deployment of logistics to coordinators.
