BEVERLY HILLS, February 24, (THEWILL) – The 158 freed Boko Haram abductees recently re-united with their families in Yobe State have received support from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Made up of 62 adults and 96 children, the abductees were seized last year from Katarko town in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.
But on Tuesday, the freed abductees were presented with some relief materials through the Yobe State Government.
The North-east coordinator of NEMA, Mohammed Kanar, who made the presentation, said the materials were to compliment the efforts earlier made by the state government to the freed abductees.
Kanar expressed gratitude to the state government for setting up a good structure in line with NEMA distribution pattern even as he expressed hope that the materials provided for the victims will be adequately shared.
Receiving the items which include bags of rice, noodles, vegetable oil, tomatoes and wrappers, on behalf of the state government, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Idi Jidawa, hailed the Federal Government for the relief materials, assuring that the materials would be distributed to the people they are meant for.
