Zulum Gives Cash, Food Items To CJTF, Hunters, Others To Cushion Hardships

February 14, (THEWILL) – The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has approved relief packages comprising cash and food items to 810 combined volunteers, fighting Boko Haram alongside other security agencies in the Bama local government area of the state.

Zulum announced the package when he was addressing the leadership and members of the volunteers at the Palace of the Shehu of Bama, Umar Ibn Shehu Kyari Ibn Umar Elkanemi, on Monday.

He said the combined volunteers, including the members of Civilian JTF, hunters and vigilantes would receive cash and food items including rice and maize grain which aims to ease the economic hardships in the country.

“We are aware of the enormous efforts you put into complementing the military in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality. We commend you and urge you to continue to be dedicated.

“I have directed that each of you (810), be given N20,000 cash, a bag of rice and a bag of maize immediately,” Zulum announced.

Zulum applauded the volunteers for the sacrifices they were making and assured them of the government’s continuous support to provide peace and security.

“The government of Borno State will never relent in extending support to you. Your welfare is of high priority to us, we will not leave you. Be assured that the government will always be with you.” Zulum assured.

Zulum noted that his continuous support was to show gratitude to the volunteers for their sacrifices in complementing the efforts of the military and other security forces in the fight against insurgents.
