April 22, (THEWILL) – Leading candidate for the Cross River Central Senatorial Elections, Chief Akin Ricketts, has assured stakeholders they will not regret sending him to the Senate.

Chief Ricketts disclosed this during his consultative visit to party leaders and the traditional institution in Boki and Ikom LGA.

He said he understands the challenges people in the senatorial district face, and he is ready to help address the challenges faced by people in the area when he gets to the Senate.

“I am here to ask for your support and prayers to represent all of us in the Senate in Abuja.

“I understand the challenges of the traditional institution as well as the youths, who sometimes graduate and wait for over seven years without jobs.

“When you support me and make me get to the Senate, you will not regret it”, Chief Ricketts said.

On his part, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Bishop Chris Obase, said Chief Ricketts is the man they want in the Senate come 2023.

He said the area should be mindful of people they send to Abuja, because if they send someone who is neither accessible nor keep his words like Chief Ricketts, then they will be in trouble.

He said Chief Ricketts is not an aspirant, but the candidate, because no other person matches him in terms of capacity and ability to keep his promises.

Welcoming the team, the Chairman of Ikom Local government, Kingsley Egume, said Chief Ricketts has taken the right step by consulting them.

He said they will take him to their hearts and give him all the support he needs.

Also speaking, Kingsley Bassey, the Chairman of chairmen in Ikom, commended Chief Ricketts for coming down to consult them.

He said before now, other candidates did not think it necessary to consult them because they feel they will get their tickets up there.

He said grassroot politics is sacrosanct and pledged support for Chief Ricketts ambition.

Mathew Egomo, the chapter Chairman of APC Ikom, on his part, said Chief Ricketts is the most outstanding candidate for the race and Ikom people are solidly behind him.

Ojong Eba, the leader of the Ikom legislative council, said as young people, they need to encourage people like Chief Ricketts as this is the only way they can have access to authority.

He stressed that Chief Ricketts’ ambition is timely and he is the first to consult them as a group.

He pledged to stand by him as a group and having started well, he prays they end well.

In his reaction, the leader of the Boki Legislature, Amos Ijow, said Chief Ricketts is the first candidate to consult them and they will follow him because he is the original.

Also speaking at Boje in Boki, Kevin Njong, the chapter Chairman of APC, said Chief Ricketts has their support.

He appealed to Chief Ricketts to keep on with the various empowerment programmes he has been doing when he gets to the Senate.

As part of the consultative visit to Ikom and Boki, the traditional leaders also offered blessings to the ambition of Chief Ricketts.
