Wizkid Reveals Plans To Extend Break From Music

November 20, (THEWILL) – Afrobeat superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has hinted at the possibility of extending his four-year music break to six years.

The Grammy Award-winning artist, who initially announced a three to four-year hiatus from the studio, has now expressed contemplation about extending the break to six years.

This was revealed on his Instagram story where he wrote, “Loving every bit of this holiday. Might consider extending it to six years.”

Wizkid also revealed that he might pursue an acting career.

In another post on his Instagram story, he wrote in Pidgin, “Shebi I tell una I one dey act film!…I just want dey kiss and shoot a gun for a movie. Daz all!!”

Responding to comments on his Instagram stories, he said, “Abeg na me go pick who I go kiss. All these people wey dey my DM gerrout!”

“Yeah, and I want dey slap ppl for film… na my hidden talent be dat.”

Furthermore, filmmaker and Nollywood actor, Kunle Afolayan, took to social media, teasing fans about bringing Wizkid on a feature movie.

The movie icon captioned the post with a question to fans of the Grammy-winning singer if they would love to see him on screen.

Sharing a photo of himself and Wizkid on his X page on Monday, November 20, Afolayan asked: “Do you people want a Wizkid film? Need or Keep?”

This arises weeks after he announced his plan to take a four to five-year hiatus from music, hinting at pursuing a career in football or golf.
