Why I Don’t Like Revealing My Personal Details – Empress Njamah

SAN FRANCISCO, January 16, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Empress Njamah, has condemned the disclosure of one’s personal details publicly.

Njamah made this known while speaking with The Punch on Saturday, saying for security reasons, it is not proper wise to put every information about a person in the public.

She said: “In my opinion, 60 per cent of one’s lifestyle (as a celebrity) is already out there, so one does not have to reveal everything. Sometimes, putting a lot of things out there hurts one. These days, it is very difficult to say that one has genuine friends but thankfully, I have a few. When I have those genuine shoulders to cry on, it is enough for me. Without meaning to sound spiritual, I think sometimes, the devil laughs at one when people celebrate negative things.

” Sadly, many people celebrate more negative things than positive. If I put my woes out there, a lot of people would just say “sorry”. A lot of things happened to me in 2020 and I thought it was going to be a terrible year for me but at the end, it turned out to be good. I feel that sometimes, one needs to be private. It is a wise security decision too.”

Njamah also disclosed that she suffered some loss in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.

She said: “My shop was vandalised by hoodlums after the #EndSARS protests and a lot of valuables were stolen. People thought I would break down but I didn’t because that would even be another expense. I did not post (on social media) about what happened.Only a few people knew about it.

“Inasmuch as I am a public person, I am also a private person. If I had put everything out there and people knew the amount of things stolen from one, it could make one an easy target for another time.

“I am not against people who put things out there because we have different ways of doing things. However, I am not a regular person. I just wanted to work towards getting back on my feet. I am not the type who likes to be pitied. If one is still fit, then one has a lot to be grateful for.”
