SAN FRANCISCO, November 11, (THEWILL) – Hollywood star, Wentworth Miller, popularly known for his role as Michael Scofield in popular TV series, Prison Break, has disclosed that he will not be returning for the show’s sixth season.
The sixth season of the famous Fox Network series is due for release soon but fans were shocked when Miller, a gay male, took to his Instagram page to announce he would not be returning because he is done playing straight characters on the TV when in reality he is gay.
The actor apologised to fans and critics who “fell in love with a fictional straight man played by a real gay one”.
He wrote: “On a related note… I’m out. Of PB. Officially.
“Not bec of static social media (although that has centered the issue). I just don’t want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told).
“So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons… I understand this is disappointing. I’m sorry.”
