October 21, (THEWILL) – The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to remain united against the barrage of assault on the country by agents of destruction.

The statement followed a reported attack on the Kaduna bound train which forced the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) to suspend all train operation on the route indefinitely.

In a statement by the Secretary of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the party, John James Akpanudedehe, said the attackers do not want Nigerians to enjoy the various infrastructural Investment made by the administration, saying the administration means well for the country

“Nigerians by now have realized that the APC led-government of President Muhammadu Buhari means well for Nigerians and is doing everything possible to deliver infrastructure to Nigerians amidst difficult economic times, globally. We must stay united so we can defeat the agents of destruction who have vowed to set Nigeria backwards.

“Just this morning, an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train was attacked by criminals, depriving Nigerians of the services it provides. This is so despicable, but together we shall overcome them”, he said.

Akpanudoedehe who spoke on Thursday during the inauguration of the APC State Congresses Appeal Committees at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, said he has no doubt that Nigerians will give the party fresh mandate in 2023.

He said the party’s leadership headed by Mai Mala Buni is recalibrating APC into a functional winning machine come 2023, adding that with its huge membership base the party will win “the upcoming elections convincingly, starting from the Governorship elections in Anambra, to Osun, Ekiti and to the 2023 general elections”.

For this to happen, he said ” there is greater need to sustain the trust of our party men and women and indeed all Nigerians”, saying dissensions within the party must be seen as “family disputes and should not seek to destroy the platform which helped them in times past”.

While urging members to be fair to all , he appealed to party faithful not to take matters to the public space. .

“As a party, we shall ensure that channels of communication are kept open, as in the instant case and as dictated by the constitution of our party. This Appeals Committee is part of the internal mechanisms, so that those who may feel dissatisfied with the States Congresses can approach the Committee and ventilate their grievances through this avenue”, he added.
