October 15, (THEWILL) – Juventus broke the gloom at Torino with a 1-0 Derby della Mole victory courtesy of Dusan Vlahovic’s second half goal.
Following 2-0 losses to Milan and Maccabi Haifa, head coach Massimiliano Allegri came under increasing pressure, but on Saturday, the Bianconeri won their fourth Serie A game of the year against their local rivals.
At the Turin derby contested at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Vlahovic’s eighth goal of the season in the 74th minute was sufficient to end the rivalry in favour of the Old Lady.
Juve’s victory put them over Inter and into seventh place, which was a relief for the under-fire Allegri, although it will not immediately end all the debates about his capacity to return the Italian side to the glory days of dominating the Serie A.
Next, on Friday, Juventus hosts Empoli in an attempt to win its second straight League game and keep the momentum going while Torino welcome Cittadella to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in the Coppa Italia competition on Tuesday.
