June 24, (THEWILL) – On Monday, Vice President Kashim Shettima alongside Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, in Kano, attended the burial of the Mother-in-law of the Vice President, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar.
The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, was also among the hundreds of mourners who participated in the burial.
Hajiya Maryam Abubakar died in Kano after a brief illness.
In his condolence message, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described late Hajiya Maryam Abubakar as an obedient housewife who did her best in the upbringing of her family members, which included her biological children and non-related people.
“We were shocked on hearing about the death of Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir,”Yusuf said.
Alhaji Hadi Almustapha, the younger brother of Major Hamza Almustapha who is also a member of the late Hajiya Maryam Abubakar’s family, described the deceased as a humble and generous woman and mother that was dedicated to her duties as a housewife.
Abdullahi Yusuf is a seasoned journalist, communicator and was previously the Deputy Editor-In-Chief and Zonal Manager, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Jos, where he retired on December 15, 2021
