September 28, (THEWILL) – Lautaro Martinez scored his first goal of the season for Inter Milan, netting twice in a 3-2 victory against Udinese on Saturday. The win propelled Inter to joint top of Serie A alongside Torino and AC Milan, all on 11 points after six matches.
Davide Frattesi opened the scoring for Inter just 43 seconds into the match. Martinez then found the net shortly before half-time and again soon after the break.
Christian Kabasele had equalised for Udinese in the 35th minute, while Lorenzo Lucca scored a late consolation goal for the home side.
The result marks a strong recovery for Inter following their derby defeat to AC Milan last weekend. It also provides a timely boost ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
Martinez, last season’s top scorer in Serie A, had not scored since July when he netted the winner for Argentina in the Copa America final.
