BEVERLY HILLS, January 05, (THEWILL) – Leader of Biafra Independence Movement, BIM, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has named a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Aniebonam as Chairman of Biafra Independent National Electoral Commission, B-INEC.
Announcing the appointment at the Ojukwu Memorial Library, Owerri, Imo State, Uwazuruike explained that the measure was in line with BIM’s principle of non-violence towards establishing a sovereign control over the territorial boarders of the new Biafra.
Uwazuruike disclosed that Fr. Aniebonam and his team of other members of B-INEC would conduct and supervise the internal election in all the offices of BIM on February 22, 2016.
Meanwhile, Uchechi Kanu, wife of the embattled Director of Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, gave birth to a baby boy at an undisclosed hospital on Tuesday.
The report of the latest addition to Kanu’s family was announced in a message posted on the Facebook page of IPOB.
“Good morning great Biafrans. With joy in our hearts and celebration of new arrival to IPOB family, our first lady, the wife of our eminent leader, Joshua Nnamdi Kanu, has delivered a healthy baby boy. Mother and child are in good health,” the message read.
Although the location of the birth was not disclosed, it is however speculated to be the United Kingdom, where Kanu was based before his arrest.
Kanu, who also holds a British passport, was arrested on October 14, 2015 by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and is being accused of sponsoring terrorism and belonging to an unlawful group.
