BEVERLY HILLS, February 24, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has said that the current security threats faced by Nigeria were surmountable.
Babangida ruled as Nigeria’s military Head of state between 1985 and 1993.
In an interview granted to Channels TV on Tuesday, Babangida said that the nation could overcome its security issues if those in the position of authority planned appropriately.
He said quashing the threats posed by kidnappers, bandits, and the insurgents required much planning, adding that it was not a short-term plan.
IBB said he had obtained information suggesting that security agencies were working together to map out new strategies on how to deal with the situation.
The former President, while stating that he was concerned about the situation in the country, urged the government and the citizenry to join forces to overcome the problem.
