Chairman of DAAR Communications Limited and Technical Director of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP-PCC), High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, has reportedly been arrested by the Police in the United Kingdom.
The PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is currently in London.
There were strong speculations that Dokpesi was on his way to a scheduled meeting with Atiku to strategies and consolidate plans leading up to the February 25 presidential election in Nigeria
He was said to have been arrested on Sunday while travelling to the United Kingdom.
He had boarded a Lufthansa Flight LH916 from Frankfurt to London and was subsequently picked up at Terminal 2 of Heathrow Airport in London.
It was not immediately clear why Dokpesi was arrested but a source, who was on the flight, confirmed his arrest
“We were on a flight from Frankfurt to London and as we are about to arrive London, we were informed that we should all stay in our seats when the aircraft lands and that the Police wanted to do something. We were informed that there would be a police operation.
“So when we landed, the police came in and asked who is Raymond Dokpesi and they now took him away. He was wearing agbada. He was arrested in London,” a source told The Whistler.
Dokpesi, according to findings, would appear in court on Monday, for remand.
The PDP is yet to confirm the development.
