BEVERLY HILLS, CA, NOVEMBER 01, (THEWILL) – Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has assured Deltans of the early completion of the ultra modern Mariam Babangida Multi-Purpose Skill Acquisition Centre in Asaba.
Governor Uduaghan who gave the assurance Thursday when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the facility said that the project, the first of its kind in the state, was in fulfilment of a promise to immortalize the late Mariam Babangida for her involvement in empowering women and also to provide a special skill acquisition centre for women in the state.
His words, “This multiplex is being built to immortalize the late Mariam Babangida because she was an exceptional woman who was greatly involved in the empowerment of women in the state and across the nation”.
While expressing satisfaction with the quality of work on the project, Dr. Uduaghan explained that the project would be completed on schedule and according to the specifications.
The governor stated that “the Centre has main conference halls and smaller halls. We are going to convert two of the smaller conference halls to vocational training and skill acquisition halls for women empowerment”.
Responding to questions, the contractor in charge of the project, Engineer Adeleke stated that the multiplex was being constructed according to plan and assured Governor Uduaghan that it would be completed on schedule.
