Tottenham Has No Regrets Retaining Harry Kane – Claims Club Director Of Football

October 11, (THEWILL) – Fabio Paratici, Tottenham Hotspur’s Managing Director of Football, has stated that the club had no regrets about not selling Harry Kane to Manchester City during the previous summer transfer window.

Spurs refused to sell Kane despite a £100 million offer from the Premier League champions in July. Despite his initial desire to leave Spurs, the footballer chose to stay in the end.

But Kane has had such a difficult start to the 2021/22 season, with no goals in his first six Premier League appearances. This has led some to say that Spurs would be better off taking the money, but Paratici is adamant that the club made the right decision.

“Harry Kane loves Tottenham. We’ve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the re-building, and we’re happy with our choice. There’s no need for any new talk with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs,” he said at the Festival dello Sport event.

Paratici also took the time to answer questions regarding many upcoming new signings. Spurs have been connected with Inter duo Milan Skriniar and Marcelo Brozovic as speculations concerning the Nerazzurri’s financial woes grow.

“Rumours around about Milan Skriniar to Spurs are not accurate. We’re not working to sign Marcelo Brozovic, he’s an Inter player and it’s not even a topic for us.”

Spurs are also rumoured to be interested in free-scoring Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer after rejecting Fiorentina’s new contract offer.

However, Paratici said: “Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it’s normal – he’s not in our plans, for now. I’m not gonna speak about Dusan Vlahovic as he’s under contract with Fiorentina… and also because we’ve got Harry Kane who’s the best centre-striker in the world.”
