SAN FRANCISCO, July 06, (THEWILL) – Malia Obama turned 18 yesterday and her dad, President Barack Obama gave her a lovely surprise.
At an event to mark his last Fourth of July (America’s Independence Day), Obama ended his speech saying, “And just because it’s a job of a father to embarrass his daughters, I’ve got one last job. It just so happens that we celebrate our country’s birthday on the same day that we celebrate my oldest daughter’s birthday,” and then led the audience, including Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae to sing “Happy Birthday” to Malia.
The delighted birthday girl came on stage and gave her dad a big hug.
