December 17, (THEWILL) – American musician, who co-founded and plays drums for the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, Thomas Lee Bass, popularly known as Tommy Lee, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a helicopter.
The reported incident occurred in February 2003, involving an unidentified woman, who alleges inappropriate actions, including groping, kissing, and penetration without her consent, while aboard the helicopter with another man.
According to documents, the woman was friends with the helicopter pilot, who had invited her on a tour of San Diego country, but when she got to the airfield, the 61-year-old drummer was also there waiting, and she was informed plans had changed and they would be flying to Los Angeles as a trio.
The accuser asserted feeling pressured to proceed with the trip. Once airborne, she alleged that Tommy and the pilot consumed alcohol and drugs, urging her to sit on the musician’s lap. According to her account, he then forced himself on her.
In the lawsuit, she alleged that he initiated groping and kissing, escalating to forcefulness despite her attempts to pull away. Accusing him of penetrating her with his fingers and touching her breasts, she claimed Tommy then attempted to force her head towards his genitals after pulling down his pants. Upon reaching Los Angeles, the rocker hugged her, disembarked, and the pilot flew her back to San Diego in silence.
The woman asserted she endured shock, distress, humiliation, shame, and guilt following the incident but refrained from reporting to the police, fearing she wouldn’t be taken seriously. Seeking damages from Lee, she cited suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and enduring other physical and psychological harm as a consequence of the alleged incident.
