July 08, (THEWILL) – A Nigerian, Tobi Kufeji, has started a 200-hour singing marathon, in an attempt to break Guinness World Records (GWR) for longest singing ever.
The singing marathon is being held at Zone 17 Extension, opposite CAC Galaxy, Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos State.
The longest singing marathon record is currently held by Sunil Waghmare, an Indian. He set the record in 2012, after singing for 105 hours.
Kufeji took to social media to announce that his application had been accepted by Guinness World Records and solicited support from Nigerians, as he embarked on the journey. He also stated that his attempt is tagged ‘Praiseworship-a-thon’.
He listed the things needed for the sing-a-thon to be successful and pleaded with the public to come to his aid.
Kufeji revealed that he had just finished a 5-day marathon fitness test to break the current record of 105 hours and added that he is convinced that he will break the record.
“This achievement will bring about outstanding success and fortune in my music ministry, career and great honour and glory to Nigeria and Africa to the glory of God. And I will, in return, give massively back to society.”
